Reed’s first major role was in the 1964 film “Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb,” directed by Stanley Kubrick. She played the role of Miss Scott, a secretary who becomes involved in the film’s satirical plot about nuclear war.
Throughout her career, Reed appeared in many other films, including “A Shot in the Dark” (1964) and “Oliver! (1968). She also appeared on TV shows such as “The Avengers” and “The Saint.
Reed retired from acting in the early 1980s, but she continued to work in the film industry as a casting director. She passed away on May 2, 2012, at the age of 69.
