The video introduces us to the major characters, Kai, Lys, Nubs, Nash, and RJ-83. It shows the Younglings studying from Master Yoda, whose voiceover pervades the trailer, as well as conveying vital themes such as banding together in times of need and assisting those in need. And, of course, some colorful shenanigans!
The series is set in the Star Wars canon during the High Republic era, some 50 years before the events of The Phantom Menace, which means we don’t have to imagine a series conclusion using the words “Order 66” to conclude it on a terrible note. Three four-minute cartoons were uploaded on YouTube a few weeks ago, depicting the characters collaborating with Master Yoda to solve challenges on Tenoo.
What was said by the Team, When the series was announced?
James Waugh, the show’s executive producer and senior vice president of Franchise Content & Strategy at Lucasfilm, said of it:
“Star Wars transcends generations; fans of all ages relate deeply with its imaginative settings, mythological stories, and distinct characters.” When creating Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures, the first Star Wars series developed for preschoolers, the creative team never stopped thinking about how this show could be a youngling’s first step into a broader universe, and their first time experiencing the Star Wars galaxy’s boundless potential. The characters, tone, and life lessons woven throughout each episode were developed specifically for kids, and our skilled team was devoted to preserving the cinematic tradition while being true to parents’ expectations for the youngest of audiences.”
What Characters Feature in Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures?
Jamaal Avery, Jr. as Kai Brightstar, Juliet Donenfeld as Lys Solay, Dee Bradley Baker as Nubs, Emma Berman as Nash Durango, Jonathan Lipow as RJ-83, and Piotr Michael as Master Yoda round out the group.
On May 4, Disney+ and Disney Junior will premiere Young Jedi Adventures.
