Last week, CCO Ted Sarandos announced the news on a conference call with investors. “Absolutely,” Sarandos said in response to a query about the show’s future. “The Squid Gameworld is just getting started,” a source told Variety.

Hwang has said clearly that he will not return for a second season. When asked if he planned to return to the big screen before Season 2, he answered, “I don’t know.” According to Variety, he is now working on a film called “KO Club,” which is about a battle between generations. But, because of the show’s historical popularity, Hwang has given us a new indication of where the story may go.
