It was initially planned to be a single feature, but it was eventually divided into two parts. Part one premiered in theatres on September 30 in all five Indian languages, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada, and received widespread acclaim.

Release Date for Ponniyin Selvan: Part Two
According to sources, the second installment’s post-production work is now underway. In a media interview a few months ago, Mani Ratnam stated that Part 2 has already begun and that the film will be released six to nine months after Part One.
The creators of Ponniyin Selva: Part 2 have now confirmed the release date via a teaser, which shows us a peek of the film’s main protagonists. The period drama film will be released in theatres on April 28, 2023.
