Help for Women in Amma Two Wheeler Scheme
The Amma Two Wheeler scheme helps women in Tamil Nadu. Big companies in Chennai want working women to use this helpful program. It helps with money for two-wheelers, like scooters.
The Chennai Corporation gives Rs 25,000 or half of the money for these bikes to working women. To get this help, women need to give their driver’s license, age, address, and how much money they make.
This program is for women around 18 to 15 years old. The government wants to help 9,519 working women every year. But right now, they are looking at 9,515 applications. This year, only 7,000 women got the help, but the goal was to help 6,062 women.

Benefits Of The Scheme

- One million women enjoy the program each year.
- Half of the round or Rs. 25,000, whichever is lower.
- The government provides a free deposit to buy Amma’s bike.
- Donations are immediately credited to the recipient’s financial assets.
- Disabled women can enjoy convertible tricycles. The remaining amount, which the woman can receive a bank advance or pay from her property.
Vehicle Details
There are some specifications set by the relevant authorities for vehicles that must be purchased to take advantage of the program.
- The most volume must be 125 cc.
- The vehicle must be registered under the Motor Vehicles Act 1988.
- Vehicles must be manufactured after January 1, 2018, and must meet the latest emissions standards.
- The Project Director (PD) of the Tamil Nadu Rural Life Mission (TNSRLM) in each district. This compiled/collected information on all the vehicles offered under this program.
The details are also forwarded to the Department of Transport. Ministry of Transport will not allow a change of ownership registration due to sale or other reasons. Without prior approval of PD, TNSRLM, for a period of 3 years.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria when applying to the Amma Motorcycle Program.
- Applicant’s age must not exceed 40 years.
- Applicant’s age must not be under the age of 18.
- Aspirants must have passed their 8th-grade exam at an accredited college or school in the Tamil Nadu district.
- Applicants must be in possession of a motorcycle driver’s license issued by the relevant authorities.
- Annual family income cannot exceed Rs 250000.
Documents Required
To apply for Amma’s Motorcycle Program, you will need the following documents
- Proof of age (Date of Birth)
- Proof of house (EPIC card / DL / Aadhaar card/utility bill in applicant’s name).
- A driver’s license or learner’s registration card (LLR) is issued by the relevant authorities.
- Proof of income issued by your employer or self-certified.
- Proof of employment from employer/organization/project manager/association if employed or non-self-employed.
- Aadhaar card.
- Proof of teaching qualifications or passing the 8th standard exam (SSLC, transfer certificate, etc.).
- Passport-size photograph.
- Evidence proving membership in the preferred category, if applicable.
- Community certificate (in case of SC or ST)
- A disability ID card is issued by the competent authority.
- Vehicle invoice or pro forma invoice.

These bikes can be used for commuting to work, transporting goods, etc. are necessary tasks around the community. Individuals who are unable to own their own vehicles can also ride these bikes provided by the government. The aim of the scheme is to create a network of green transport options in rural areas.
