There are three major telecom companies: Reliance Jio, Airtel, and Vodafone Idea. In front of the Prime Minister, these three companies demonstrated the use of 5G network technology in India to show their potential.

When Will 5G Launch In India

Airtel gives its services over a 5G network in five cities across India. On the other hand, Reliance Jio kicked off services later this month. It will be followed by Vodafone Idea’s 5G rollout in the country. BSNL also launched a 5G network in India.

The 5G network promises to give faster internet connectivity that could touch 10 Gbps, and the comparison is the 100 Mbps peak of the 4G network.

5G Speed In India

In India, 5G speeds will be ten times quicker than the current 4G speeds. During the trial phase, operators observed speeds of up to 1Gbps (Vi 5G speed reached 5.90Gbps), while the actual speed is expected to range from 200-300Mbps.

At the IMC 2022, this was definitely the case with Airtel 5G speed. On the OnePlus 10 Pro, the network provided 304Mbps of download speed.

What is 5G?

Fifth generation (5G), provides connectivity to smartphones. It is a new global wireless standard that succeeds the 4G network. It provides higher multi-Gbps speeds, more reliability, and lower latency compared to other networks. Users may also see use cases for AR/VR, AI, and high-speed internet over the network.
