It all started with Top 36, then Top 16, Top 7, Top 3 and finally the winner of MasterChef India – Nayanjyoti Saikia from Assam won hearts on the programme not only because of his simplicity but also because of what a terrific contender he turned out to be! After completing a series of tasks, the last one of which was delivered by Sanjeev Kapoor, Nayanjyoti was awarded the MasterChef India winner’s trophy and a check for Rs 25 lakh.

NAYANJYOTI SAIKIA WINS MASTERCHEF INDIA
Following days of competition and searching for the greatest home cook, Nayanjyoti Saikia of Assam was crowned MasterChef India champion and received a cash reward of Rs 25 lakh. Santa Sarmah of Assam was named first runner-up, and Suvarna Bagul of Bombay was named second runner-up. They each received a check for Rs 5 lakh.
Chef Sanjeev Kapoor assessed the three finalists in the signature three-course meal challenge’ with the judges, Chefs Ranveer Brar, Vikas Khanna, and Garima Arora, during the MasterChef India grand finale. Nayanjyoti was victorious in the final test. He and the two runners-up got medals from Amul’s Managing Director, Mr. Jayen Mehta.
Nayanjyoti picked Tinsukia on a platter for the ‘Ultimate Grand Finale’ as part of the distinctive three-course dinner challenge. He began with curried crab, followed with Assamese-style duck, and finished with a mixed berry sorbet. Nayanjyoti was adored by the judges and spectators alike, whether he was conveying nostalgia for his homeland on the plate with Assam cuisine or playing to his skill as a baker and offering delectable sweets.
