Marvel Studios Releases First Trailer for ‘The Marvels’

The film explores the unification of the three superheroes as they begin changing places every time they use their powers, starring Brie Larson as Carol Danvers a.k.a. Captain Marvel, Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau, and Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan a.k.a. Ms. Marvel. The next project also acts as a sequel to Marvel Studios’ Captain Marvel, which was released in 2019.
The film also stars Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Lashana Lynch as Maria Rambeau, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, and others.
The film was shot around the UK, along with location filming in Los Angeles and Italy. “The Marvels” will mark the third and final Marvel film release of the year and is due out in cinemas on November 10th.
Who’s Making The Marvels?
Nia DaCosta, the director of Candyman, has been chosen to direct the picture, which will be released in August 2020. DaCosta is notable for being Marvel’s first Black female director. Kevin Feige is the film’s producer, and Matthew Jenkins and Mary Livanos serve as executive producers. Cara Brower is the production designer, Sean Bobbitt is the cinematographer, and Catrin Hedström is in charge of the editing.
Megan McDonnell was hired to create the screenplay for the film after serving as a staff writer on Marvel’s WandaVision. Laura Karpman, who previously composed music for the first seasons of the MCU series What If…? and Ms. Marvel, was hired in January 2022 to write the soundtrack for the film. Marvel Studios will produce the film, while Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures will distribute it.
When and Where Was The Marvels Filmed?
The film’s pre-production work began in February 2021. Second unit filming for the working title Goat Rodeo began on April 9, 2021, in Jersey City, New Jersey, to capture aerial footage, establishing shots, and green screen plates. The film’s principal photography is said to have begun around August 10 at Longcross Studios in Longcross, Surrey, and Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire, England. The Marvels was said to have begun filming near Tropea, Italy, on August 27, including around the Tyrrhenian Sea coast. The filming officially concluded in May 2022.
What is the plot of The Marvels?
Following the events of Ms. Marvel, Carol Danvers / Captain Marvel (Brie Larson), Kamala Khan / Ms. Marvel (Iman Vellani), and Monica Rambeau begin shifting locations every time they utilize their powers and must work together to figure out why. Samuel L. Jackson, Saagar Shaikh, Zenobia Shroff, and Mohan Kapur will all reprise their roles in the film. Zawe Ashton and Park Seo-Joon, who are presently cast in mysterious roles, will join the cast.
“If I’m having an off day, or I’m really exhausted but powering through and not really taking care of myself,” Vellani explained earlier this year. “[Brie] will see that, and she will come up to me, and she will talk to me, and she will just make sure that I’m taking care of myself.” Because you can get so overwhelmed and lost in this world, and just — there’s so much being asked of us, and it’s really important to kind of step back and see what you need in your environment to do this work. Because we’re working 10-14 hour days in pretty uncomfortable costumes, and it’s quite physically and emotionally taxing, it’s just really wonderful that Brie and Teyonah check in on me and make sure I’m doing OK. And I feel like I’m doing the same for them, but not on the same level!”
Ms. Marvel is now available to stream exclusively on Disney+. Meanwhile, “The Marvels”, will debut exclusively in theaters on November 10th.
The Marvels Confirms Trailer Release Date with Ominous New Teaser
The Marvels are finally making their way to the big screen. Marvel Studios published a small teaser video on Monday, confirming that the first trailer for The Marvels will debut tomorrow, Tuesday, April 11th, during Good Morning America. The teaser itself depicts some type of cosmic aberration, as well as music “from space” suggesting Monica Rambeau’s departure. (Teyonah Parris). ‘The Marvels’ Trailer: Brie Larson Leads a Heroic MCU Trio
Marvel Studios’ production may be decreasing, but this autumn, the company is delivering fans three wonders in one. Disney has unveiled the first trailer for “The Marvels,” the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s 33rd feature film.
“The Marvels” is ostensibly a sequel to 2018’s “Captain Marvel,” which introduced Brie Larson as the eponymous superhero, but it really follows characters from three separate MCU films. In addition to Larson as Carol Danvers, Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan from last year’s Disney+ series “Ms. Marvel” and Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau from 2021’s “Wandavision” appear in the film. In the original comic books, all three characters used the identities “Captain Marvel” or “Ms. Marvel” at various times.

In the last episode of “Ms. Marvel,” Kamala, a New Jersey girl, and fresh-faced heroine, abruptly swapped places with Carol, a former Air Force Pilot with extraterrestrial talents and Kamala’s favorite character. Carol crashed into Kamala’s bedroom, but “The Marvels” investigates where Kamala was transferred.
To make matters worse, Monica, Carol’s old friend’s (Lashana Lynch) daughter and a covert spy with energy absorption abilities, ends up changing places with both Carol and Kamala. The three ladies realize that the swaps happen when they utilize their talents and band together to solve the mystery.
Nia DaCosta directs “The Marvels,” her third feature film; the “Little Woods” director previously collaborated with Parris on her 2021 “Candyman” project, and helmed the post-credits sequence of “Ms. Marvel.” DaCosta, along with Megan McDonnell, Elissa Karasik, and Zeb Wells, is one of four acknowledged authors of the script.
Aside from the three main characters, Samuel L. Jackson returns as Nick Fury in his second Marvel endeavor this year, after this summer’s “Secret Invasion” limited series. Zawe Ashton and Park Seo-Joon play unspecified parts, and Saagar Shaikh, Zenobia Shroff, and Mohan Kapur play Kamala’s family in their “Ms. Marvel” roles.
The Third Film in MCU’s Phase Five: “The Marvels”
“The Marvels” is the third film to be released in the MCU’s “Phase Five,” which began with last February’s critically criticized and commercially dismal “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.” That Peyton Reed-directed production put the legendary brand on shakier ground than it had ever been before, especially amid problems surrounding its VFX technique, one of its performers, Jonathan Majors, and executive Victoria Alonso’s departure. The studio is apparently slowing down its release schedule in order to prevent potential franchise weariness.
Nonetheless, “The Marvels” is one of several MCU initiatives taking place this year. “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3,” James Gunn’s final film for the franchise before taking over at DC, will be released next month.
“Secret Invasion” will premiere on Disney+ in July, while Season 2 of “Loki,” starring Tom Hiddleston, will premiere later this year. Despite possible Marvel weariness, there’s reason to believe “The Marvels” will thrive; the original “Captain Marvel,” directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, is one of the studio’s highest-earning pictures, generating $1.1 billion globally.
