She went to Gujarat College in Ahmedabad and studied dramatics, which is all about acting. She started her acting journey by doing small plays and shows in the Gujarati theater. Some of the plays she acted in were Patel v/s Dhamal Patel and Lali Lila.

TV Career
Disha Vakani started her TV career with the Khichdi show in 2004. In 2005, she made a guest appearance in a comedy show called Instant Khichdi.
Then she worked in a TV serial called Aahat in 2004-05. From 2006-2007 starred in the show Resham Dankh.
Despite trying her luck everywhere, she was not getting that popularity and love. But when one of her friends told her in 2008, Neela Tele Films is auditioning for the Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah show.
Then she went to audition, seeing Disha’s excellent acting, she was selected for the role of Daya Gada in TMKOC.
Disha started working on this show and constantly the popularity of the show grew so much that later on the show became one of India’s most successful TV shows.
Today the situation is such that Disha Vakani has become so famous for the role of Daya Gada that this show cannot be imagined without her.
